Intur Palacio San Martin Hotel Madrid is housed in a historical building constructed in 1883. After an extensive renovation in 2001, the building opened as a hotel. While the renovation had introduced many of the modern day comforts to the hotel, it preserves much of the building's former characteristics, such as the use of marble, fine woods and an impressive crafted ceiling in the lobby.

The hotel has 94 comfortable guestrooms. Each room is carefully decorated in a classical style that makes good use of the high ceilings, light and large windows.
