Catalonia Duques De Bergara Hotel Barcelona is housed in an art-nouveau building dated in 1898. It was fully renovated, extended and converted into a hotel in 1998. The renovation merges the classical adjoining building to form a bigger unit. The hotel is located next to Plaza Catalunya and the Ramblas, the key central of Barcelona.
Catalonia Duques De Bergara Hotel Barcelona, as the name suggests, is a refined hotel with a beautiful modernist decoration and an architecture that gives it an historic and aristocratic atmosphere. This building was built by the famous architect Emilio Salas y Cortés (a professor of Gaudí). The entry hall has a marble staircase that leads to the first floor. On the first floor you will find impressive mahogany doors from Cuba and the original moulded ceiling and dome. Along the main staircase, the wrought iron handrail was preserved and the original paintings had been restored beautifully.
There are 149 rooms. All the rooms are fully equipped to meet the needs of the most demanding travelers. On the hotel premises, there is a bar, a swimming pool and several meeting rooms where guest can organize functions and events. |
