Ca' D'Oro Hotel Venice is situated in a quiet corner of the Cannaregio district in the northwest of the Venice, where Rio di Ca' Dolce and Rio di Santa Fosca canals meet. Its building exemplified the minor architecture of Venice that retains the fascination of the ancient city. This hotel is close to tourist attractions such as the Campo Santi Apostoli, the Ca' d'Oro (one of the most beautiful palaces on the Grand Canal built between 1424 and 1440), Rialto Bridge, colorful market and St Mark's Square.
Ca' D'Oro Hotel Venice has a long history. Its original owner was the Barbaro family whom came to Venice from Rome in 868. Members of the family fought in battle as Venetian army commanders or served as diplomats engaged in complicated relations with the Republic’s overseas possessions. Today, the hotel’s distinctive courtyard still has a well that bear the family name. Its reception hall has original 13th century beams, marble, the chandelier and splendid antique mirror that have been preserved in perfect condition.
