Astor House Hotel Shanghai (previously known as Richard's Hotel) was renovated and renew in the year 2002 to rediscover the lost elegance and charm of the original building. The hotel is located in the north side of Garden Bridge next to Shanghai Mansion. This area has convenient access to public transportation that will connect guests to Bond (Bund) and Nanjing Road (with its financial and shopping centers) very quickly.
Astor House Hotel Shanghai has a built up size of 16563 square meters on a site with an area of 4580 square meters. It was first established in 1846 by the Richard's family and is the very first western hotel property in China. Its neo-classic Baroque structure was first restored in 1907. And over the past 150 years, Astor House Hotel with its glorious architectural essence epitomizes the historical nature of Shanghai.
There are 130 guestrooms and suites decorated in Victorian style of the 19th century. Richard Restaurant, an onsite restaurant with luxurious settings and spacious dining hall, offers Huaiyang and Szechuen style cuisines. There is also a Richard Bar where guests can enjoy good wine in romantic atmosphere.
Astor House Hotel offers spacious meeting halls that can be used for business meetings as well as training activities. There is also a chess room for guests to use during their leisure time. |
