Amigo Hotel Brussels is inaugurated in 1958 and had been totally refurbished in 2001. This hotel is found in the centre of the city, next to the well known Grand Place which is considered by many to be the most beautiful square in Europe. This location is close to Brussels's financial district and within easy walking distance of the antiques district of Le Sablon.
Amigo Hotel Brussels design is a blend of tradition with modern touches and a Flemish feel. There are some historical features of the hotel that have been retained during the refurbishment in order to preserve its history. These include the 18th century Flanders wall tapestries and the authentic Brussels paving stones, which were originally used in the surrounding streets during 1600.
The hotel offers a variety of bedrooms and suites that are individually styled and equipped with all the modern comforts. Some rooms have views of the Grand Place, while others overlook the churches and spires of the city. Each room is equipped with air conditioning, two-line phones, voice messaging, interactive satellite television, fax and dataport lines, mini bar and safe deposit box. The attached bathrooms are spacious and contain mosaic details in red or green to match their marble vanity tops and Tintin figures or Snowy the dog enliven the walls with a touch of humor.
The new and trendy onsite brasserie-restaurant "Le Verlaine" offers the best of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine in a relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere. There is also the Amigo Bar which is the best place to meet for an aperitif or to enjoy an impressive list of whiskies and cognac.
