Rooms are newly renovated in contemporary Thai style and have a sitting area with a small staircase leading up to the bedroom or down to the living area and most have a small private conservatory overlooking the river. All rooms enjoy ample day light through floor to ceiling windows. Bathrooms are decorated in marble and wood furnishings and enjoy some natural daylight. Facilities include 2 IDD telephones, individual thermostatic controller air-conditioning, remote control color TV with in-house movies, pay movies and radio, CD player and CD library, radio, mini bar, in-room safe, hair dryer, bathrobe and slippers. * B1D / B2T- Superior River Wing Double Room / Superior River Wing Twin Room Located in the River Wing and newly renovated these rooms are decorated with Thai accents throughout and enjoy magnificent river views through large floor to ceiling windows. A work desk is available with in-built international plugs and inter-net access while a fax machine/printer is on request on a complimentary basis. All rooms enjoy 3 IDD telephones with two lines, individual thermostatic controller for air-conditioning and humidity, remote control TV with in-house movies, pay movies, Bose CD player and CD library, radio, mini bar, in-room safe, hair dryer, bathrobe and slippers. The spacious bathroom enjoys natural daylight and includes separate bathtub and walk-in shower as well as a double vanity. * A1J - Executive Junior Suite Located in the River wing and newly renovated these suites face North and have impressive River views. Decorated with Thai silk fabrics, this accommodation has a separate sitting room with working area ideal for a business or family stay. Facilities include 3 IDD telephones with two lines, individual thermostatic controller for air-conditioning and humidity, remote control TV with on command in-house movies, pay movies, Bose CD player and CD library, radio, mini bar refrigerator, in-room safe hair dryer, bathrobe and slippers. A spacious bathroom with separate bathtub and walk-in shower as well as a double vanity is also available. All Executive suites are queen bedded and connect on to a Superior room making it the ideal accommodation for families or guests travelling together. * C1S - Authors Wing 1 Bedroom Suites Choose from 4 different suites/each individually designed and decorated. Each suite reflects accents of the different authors and personalities after whom they have been named. Situated off the Authors Lounge, these suites are in the original building of The Oriental dating since 1876. These world famous suites comprise a living room and bedroom with en-suite bathroom. They can be reserved in total to create a four-bedroom residence for the convenience of guests travelling together. * D1S - Deluxe 1 Bedroom Suites Choose from 10 different suites each individually designed to reflect accents of the different authors and personalities after whom they have been named. Located in the River Wing and all newly renovated these suites boast magnificent river views through large floor to ceiling windows and a balcony off the spacious sitting room. A work area is available with access to international plugs and inter-net as well as a fax machine/printer. Facilities include 4 IDD telephones with two lines, individual thermostatic controller for air-conditioning and humidity, remote control TV with on command in-house movies, pay movies, Bose CD player and CD library, radio, mini bar refrigerator, in-room safe, hair dryer, bathrobe and slippers. These suites enjoy a large en-suite bathroom with double vanity, separate bathtub and walk-in shower as well as a walk-in closet. All suites also enjoy a powder room off the sitting room for guests. * D2S - Deluxe Two-bedroom Suite Embellished with brass inlay fine furniture in teak and burl blows against walls and upholstery of the richest Thai silk immaculate parquet and a hand-woven Oriental carpets compliment these suites, which are all located on the 16th floor being the top floor of the hotel. * B2S - The Selandia 2 Bedroom Suite Kissing cousin to The Oriental Suite/The Selandia Suite has been decorated in classic manner. A gently hued space in pale ivory sets the background for hazy blues and scarlet accents. The suite is colourful and fresh. The silk draperies pluck the scarlet from the room and mix it with spring green and light yellows. The Master bedroom in Celadon is accented with gold leaf and a pair of crystal and silver bedside lamps. The adjoining bedroom suite no less a Master on its own pays homage to the nautical side of The Selandia. Teak floors with panelled walls/navy striped cotton draperies and red accents give this room a distinct feel. Brass cornered campaign style tables work with ivory striped silk soft seating to add to the mood and maintain the luxury. A collection of photographs and engravings/of ships and world maps, make one wonder where The Selandia has sailed. A Burmese theatrical dancers trunk talks about a traveller of a different sort perhaps lending a clue to the ships passage. * A2S - The Oriental 2 Bedroom Suite The Oriental Suite has returned in a grand manner. The exquisite timber panel details throughout the suite remain completely untouched expect of course for a fresh coat of paint. Careful manipulation and supplementation of the soft furnishings as well as an extensive artwork and artifact collection now rest comfortably on its solid foundation. A colour palette with variety weaves it way through the suite. Creams along with both pale and energetic citron work with varying shades of cobalt in the main living room. A rattan sitting area is enriched with a warm peach hued Kashmir carpet. The Dining Room in its original palatial colour scheme of taupe and mauve is made dramatic with a magnificent Oriental carpet. The Master Suite is warm and enveloping in tones of russet and apricot accented with charcoal and pewter. An old teak wardrobe armoire provides a simple accent to the original pineapple canopy bed. Bedroom two is fresh and relaxing with greens and cognac accents. Two beautifully carved gold leaf timber fragments flank the Northern Thai style painted media armoire. Collectively the rooms of the suite are designed in a classic and timeless manner elegant and refined. The collection of art is varied as are the accessories which bespeak the history of the suite. |
