Italy is located at the heart Mediterranean, separated from the rest of Europe by the vast sweep of the Alps. The country is a peninsula, shaped very much like a boot. There are two trans-Apennine motorways that offer the quickest cross-country routes. The two off-shores islands, Sicily and Sardinia, are connected to the mainland via ferries links.
For many centuries, this country had produced many famous Italians that create a huge impact to the modern world that we live in today. And the world most well known conqueror, Roman general Julius Caesar (whose Roman Legionary march across the Europe), hails from Rome. And who can forget Christopher Columbus, the famous explorer was born in Genoa.
