Germany is located in the center of Europe, flank by the North Sea, the Baltic Seas and the Alps. Throughout the history of humanity, the World has seen many Germans contribute their works for the benefit of mankind. In Ludwig van Beethoven and Johann Sebastian Bach, German has 2 great composers that bring to the world a fascinating array of classical music. Beethoven was born in Bonn to a court musician and is arguably the greatest figure in classical music. Johann Sebastian Bach is a classical music composer who embraced music in vast forms.
In Albert Einstein, Germany has a Nobel prized physicist from 1879-1955 whom had developed the theory of relativity.
The biggest fair celebrated in Germany is the Oktoberfest in Munich. This is one of the biggest folk fairs in Europe. Started in 1810, it has grown into an enormous event. Chief attraction of Oktoberfest is beer. It is drunk in vast quantity, in marquees erected by breweries. Ceremonial opening of the first barrel of beer marks the opening of Oktoberfest with huge procession passing through the town. The fair finishes 16 days later on the first Sunday of October.
