Maldives Up-and-Coming, New Hotels and Resorts

The following Maldives hotels / resorts have just been opened, are opening soon or has just completed amazing refurbishments.

Imagine... the smell of new paint, unspoilt, brand-new furnishing and room amenities, fresh new linens. If you are planning to visit the destination, why not be one of the first to stay there?

Iru Fushi Beach & Spa Resort Iru Fushi Beach & Spa Resort, Maldives

Noonu Atoll is the next atoll to watch out for and explore on the gorgeous Maldives islands, the new atoll is unspoilt and pristine. The soon to open Iru Fushi Beach & Spa Resort on the atoll has thirty fresh dive sites with rich marine life - manta rays, humpback turtles, reef sharks and variety of colourful corals. The best thing is Moonu Atoll has some dive sites that offer easy diving for beginners, the sea is shallow, with wide channels and gentle currents. The shallow reefs make the area idea for underwater photography and videography.

Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort and Spa

Maldives is not all about pristine sandy beaches. This resort which will open in forth quarter in 2008 offers different experience to the guests. Lush greenery, Banyan trees and Noni plants lacing the nature trails, guests will enjoy weekly guided nature tours provided by a resident expert.

If you still want to enjoy the sea, the resort will have one of the first “Underwater Nature Trails” in the Maldives, submerged signage will identify resident marine life (corals, fishes, eels, clams) along the way. The trail will lead out to the resort’s house reef on the northern end of Villingili Island.

Love snorkeling? There will be also a snorkeling garden “seascaped” - the nursery for corals and reef fishes.

Also, experienced divers will be invited to help track some of the archipelago’s largest manta rays, found in the Addu Atoll waters all year-round, by taking photos.

Now, I can't wait for the resort to be opened. :)
