Thailand means "Land of the Free".  Interestingly, this is the only country in Southeast Asia that has never been colonised before.

Southern Thailand is blessed with splendid palm-fringed beaches and tropical islands. This is where some of the best diving in the world can be found. Every year, divers around the world come here to dive in one or both of the two seas caressing it coastline, the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand.
